Basic Laundry Tips

Large bulky items like spreads, quilts, pillows and sleeping bags should be washed in the largest machines, medium loads in mid-size machines and smaller loads in the smallest machines.  Always look inside the tub prior to loading any machine.  It is okay to fill front-loading machines to the top of the tub but do not “pack” items tightly.  

Whites should be washed in one washer, darks in another.  Delicate items should be washed separate from work clothes.  Anything that might “color-bleed” should be washed separately.   Read all garment labels for additional washing instructions.  Check all pockets for items that might cause stains or damage clothes. 

Cycle buttons indicate the type of agitation.  Water temperature is also an option.  For delicate clothes use the gentle cycles.  For heavy soiled loads use Extra Wash or Extra Rinse.
